But right now, that doesn't work for us. Maybe in the future.
Do whatever works for you and your hubby. I have grown to love you, and am going to g...James,
I have grown to love you, and am going to go out on a limb with counsel which you may not like, but you can throw it away (or take it to heart) as you wish: My first response to your getting your wedding consultant certificate was, Yeah, go for it, because you're so close to finishing! But, on second thought a couple of things came into my mind: 1)I wouldn't want my husband to accompany me to many modern weddings (Christian or not), because of the immodesty, and I wouldn't want to be away from my husband on weekends; (FYI: a wedding photographer we know said he has to see a lot of bad stuff in his job.) 2) We (my husband and I) thought, like you, that we would "just wait" a couple of years to have kids. Telling God when to grant children to you doesn't always work out. In fact, it doesn't work at all. My experience was that I wasn't able to have children after only using birth control for 1 1/2 years, and I suffered miscarriage, and other problems--finally 7+ years after we were married we finally had our son. Then I miscarried again before our daughter was born. Sometimes God doesn't allow a couple to have children; when you let God be God and "let" Him (is He Lord?) give you all the gifts (children) He desires, He may choose none, one or many. But, I dearly wish we had let God plan our family, and that I had made raising children my focus from the beginning. He has been gracious, but I give you this counsel, as an older woman, who has had to learn His lessons, some of them, the hard way.
So, there it is: my "counsel", for what it's worth. Given in love, and hopefully, received in love.
Blessings,
Wendy
Psalm 127 (the whole five verses)
(3: "Lo, children are a heritage (gift) of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.")Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08230575436747893912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564022913318082163.post-68595702760417420232010-07-22T12:33:51.858-07:002010-07-22T12:33:51.858-07:00Being a wedding consultant sounds like so much fun...Being a wedding consultant sounds like so much fun! Oh I think it takes a special talent to want to be a wedding coordinator. You should go for it! :)Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16007497337771529664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564022913318082163.post-17752402987271053402010-07-22T09:35:18.309-07:002010-07-22T09:35:18.309-07:00Hey guys! I already have most of the work done for the certification. :)

And Tiff great advice!! The program I am doing helps beginners pair up with consultants that have been doing it for years for some internship training. I would LOVE to do this. Help them out with a few weddings and see how it goes! But I don't think I'll have any time to do this before I graduate next may. So I may be waiting until next Summer. But it gives me lots of time to think about it! haha

Thanks girls!! :)Jami Balmethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11682755387255599948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564022913318082163.post-84309179972970763832010-07-21T22:05:47.073-07:002010-07-21T22:05:47.073-07:00Do it. The best advice I can give is for you to see if you can assist wedding planners. That way you can observe how they work, the actual details of the job etc. Think of it as on the job training. Things you will never be able to learn just by reading textbooks and materials. Good luck!Tiffanyhttp://tiffluvslife.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6564022913318082163.post-20494918558822213002010-07-21T14:01:21.546-07:002010-07-21T14:01:21.546-07:00Oh my gosh, DO IT DO IT DO IT! Like you, I figured i'd tire of oogling over bridal magazines and wedding cakes, but that was so not the case. I'm still in love with weddings. :)Steph @ Professors_Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03968911934330532312noreply@blogger.com
